The archive gives us a supply distribution, not a price guide

Topps had published print runs for 17 of the first 18 cards in the 2026 Tennis archive when this edition was checked. Alexandra Eala #18 was sold out but still awaiting a public print run, so it is excluded from every calculation below rather than estimated.

The 17 confirmed cards total 42,390 base copies. The median card printed 1,024 copies, while the average is 2,494. That large gap between median and average is the first important signal: a handful of star-driven releases pull the entire category upward.

Three cards account for more than half the reviewed supply

Carlos Alcaraz #11 leads with 10,832 copies, followed by João Fonseca #15 at 5,616 and Novak Djokovic #9 at 5,121. Together they represent 21,569 copies, or 50.9% of the entire reviewed print run.

That concentration is useful evidence of athlete and moment demand at the primary-order stage. It is not evidence that every high-print card will be liquid at every price. It does, however, challenge a common shortcut: high supply can coexist with strong collector interest, and low supply can simply reflect limited awareness.

The bottom of the distribution is genuinely small

Diana Shnaider #16 printed 419 copies, Aryna Sabalenka #6 printed 427 and Sabalenka #4 printed 480. Combined, those three cards make up only 3.1% of the reviewed supply. Shnaider’s print run is roughly 41% of the category median.

Those numbers justify a hidden-treasure research list. They do not justify a buy recommendation. The next questions are whether collectors search for the exact card, how often copies trade, whether parallels absorb the most committed demand and what percentage of active supply sits with a small number of sellers.

Why Sabalenka is the most instructive subject

Sabalenka appears at several very different supply levels: #4 printed 480, #6 printed 427, #12 printed 984 and #13 printed 2,214. The athlete is held constant while the moment, product configuration and collector response change.

That makes her run a better research laboratory than a simple player ranking. It demonstrates why a player name cannot be used as a universal comp. Each card needs its own moment, number, parallel structure and transaction record even when the subject is identical.

Same athlete does not mean same demand. Sabalenka’s four reviewed cards span a 5.2× print-run range.

The actionable research queue

The first queue is scarcity: Shnaider #16, Sabalenka #6 and Sabalenka #4 need exact completed-sale depth. The second is demand durability: Alcaraz #11, Fonseca #15 and Djokovic #9 need sell-through analysis that accounts for their much larger base populations. The third is configuration: cards with autograph, relic or short-print chases should be separated from plain base releases before comparing order volumes.

Until those layers are built, the correct editorial conclusions are limited but valuable. Alcaraz #11 is the primary-demand leader. Shnaider #16 is the confirmed base-supply low. Neither fact, on its own, tells a collector which card offers the better purchase at today’s price.
